When playing some video files, (MPG), the status bar toward the bottom of the
player reaches the end before the video has completed playing. The audio
however continues, but the video freezes. What could be the problem?

Wrong newsgroup... There is noWMP 10 on MacOS X and WMP for Mac simply
will not play MPG anyway ;-))
