I just want to save this video file, but it keeps trying
to open it in IE with the media player, and then giving
error C00D11CD. I don't care how to fix the error,
because I don't want to watch it in media player, I want
to save it to my hard drive. And no, I can't right-click
the link and select save as, because the page
automatically starts the "download" 10 seconds after it's
loaded, so there is no link. Then media player opens and
it goes to a windows error page with C00D11CD as the
error. I'm pretty sure if I can just prevent Media
Player from coming up, it'll save the file just like all
the others I've been getting form the site. This is a
wmv, the others were avis or mpgs, which downloaded
normally. Can anybody help me out? (I'd send a link to
the page, but you need to login, so it's pointless)

In IE menus:
View >> Source.

Type the URL for the movie directly into IE and it should ask to play/save.
If it doesn't then just make your own HTML file, drop the link in and
right-click that to save-target-as.

Both a little convoluted but they should work... if not then get a download
daemon.

Saves trying to fix windows... else you'd be there forever
Apart from that.... stop using IE and move to firefox or summit to fix all
your IE problems ;)
