Issuing a version 1 license |
|
|
Does anyone have a sample asp that shows how a version 1 license can be
issued to a MAC windows media player? The documentation in the SDK is pretty
spotty about this.
Is it possible to pre-deliver a version 1 license to a mac player?
thanks in advance,
Shoeb

As far as I understand it's not possible to pre-deliver a v1 license to a mac player.
You'd have to rely on the LAURL-scenario in that case.

I'm sorry, but I don't have an example at hand.

Thanks for your response. Do you actually have an example ASP page that
issues a version 1 license to a MAC? I am having a really tough time getting
it to work.
I get the media packaged and have the MAC player access the correct url to
get the license, but for whatever reason I am not able to process the
challenge sent by the MAC correctly.
Would appreciate it if you could email me an example license issuing page at
shoeb@m68tech.com
thanks,
Shoeb

Thanks Fredrik. I figured this out. Apparently you can only deliver a
version 1 license using an IE browser on the Mac. You can also "knid of"
make pre-delivery work by simply embedding a windows media player on the page
and having it access the protected content. When the player access the
content, it goes to the license page automatically and then you can deliver
the license, in effect "pre-delivering" it. When the client access the
content again, the license is there.
cheers,
Shoeb
