Hi guys, can anyone help me out? :-)

I just migrated my web page from using a WMP6 component to the WMP9
interface (the one that's still supported with WMP10).

With the "old" page, I could fiddle with my desktop settings and let the
overlay be rendered fullscreen on the secondary monitor.
That way the primary screen showed the page, including the video content and
the secondary monitor only shows the video content in full screen.

However, the new page (with the new WMP component) does not show its
contents on the secondary monitor anymore.
I've set all settings correctly, using overlays, full h/w accel. etc. nut no
video gets rendered on the second screen.

If I run the Windows Media Player application and playback the same file, it
works like a charm! It's just the component on my page that does not allow
the overlay to be rendered on the other friggin' screen :(

It's a commercial (intranet) page that's frequently used by people with TV's
hooked on their secondary video output, so there's some pressure on my back
;-)

I'd appreciate a response.

Best regards,

Rob Vermeulen

Hmm well it sounds like a display card rather than a WMP specific
issue**. Have a look here and see if this offers a solution :

http://www.peterprovost.org/archive/2003/08/11/693.aspx

** Though the WMP FAQ about this says :

3.7 How do I get the Player to play in full-screen mode on my second
monitor? Windows Media Player can only play in full-screen mode on the
primary monitor. For more information about changing your primary
monitor, see Windows Help yadda yadda yadda"

PS I also came across this interesting multi monitor FAQ while looking
this up : http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/faq.asp well worth a
read when you're *really* bored ;-))

And a setting it was ..

WindowlessVideo was set to "true". Setting it to "false" immediately solved
the problem.
Stupid me... cost me 2 days.... :-)

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Rob.

Neil, thanks,

I already found that page myself. However, it is not satisfactory, sorry
:-)

My problem is, is that it _does_ work with normal non-web-enabled video
content. Clicking on a regular WMV file results in full-screen display on
monitor 2. It's only the web-WMP that does not do this. So to me it looks
like some setting... any ideas? :-)

Maybe the WMP component does not render with overlay or something...

Anyway, I'll keep on searching.

Thanks,

Rob

Beats the shit outta me. I can't see your embedding code,
unfortunately so I'm out of ideas. Care to post it ?
