That's because your computer wasn't configured properly to open this
specific file type through the WMP plug-in (ir that the plug-in wasn't
compatible with your browser).
It is supposed to open inthe plug-in automatically. If the server is a
bit slow, the app might then indeed attempt to cache the file forever.
