Play Purchased DRM songs from Server |

I have been using Napster to download DRM music, and was hoping to copy the
music libraries from my 3 "authorized" computers to a common drive (a
Buffalo Linkstation) to free up drive space on the computers. I had thought
the DRM would recognize each song was licensed on each authorized computer
and play it. It does not work like this, apparently, at least with Napster.
I have to actually download a copy of the song for each of the 3 computers
(3 copies of each track). Napster seemed stumped by this situation, and
implied it might be the first time it has come up--although they agreed with
me that what I am trying to do makes sense. Is this actually the way DRM
works--license is actually contained in the song copy? or is there something
else preventing me from just having one copy of the music track and a
seperate license that somehow tracks which computer, etc. can access that
track? Will the MSN Music service work the same way as Napster (I downloaded
one album from that so far, and it seems different-no "synch/restore" as in
Napster--which is one reason I still think I might get my idea to work).
