I have OS X 10.2.8 on a Power PC G-4 (1.25 processor/1024 ram)

A site I HAVE to access has video that comes with an ".aspx" suffix ...
everytime I try to play it in WMP 9.0.0 (which has been downloaded,
dumped and re-downloaded) it comes up with a "does not recognize
playlist" message ...

I can play most everything else and, if for some reason I can't, I
paste into the URL pulldown and that works .... but these "aspx"
suckers will not run. I've talked with the site's guy and he has no
idea, soooo ...

I had a windows OS buddy run it and the video works for her, so now
I'm REALLY at a loss ...

They won't run in Quick Time either for what that's worth ...

Serious thanks for anyone with any ideas

Gary Joyce

That looks like a known bug of WMP.
Try downloading the file on your hard drive and opening it in a text
editor (like TextWrangler for instance). Look for an mms:// link in
there and use it directly in WMP itself. That could do the trick,

download other videos (from other sources) through the site ... does
this make sense?

Zillion of things could cause that. It's possible that the aspx page is
malformed and doesn't load in WMP for Mac whereas it does on the Windows
version. You should contact the webmaster for that site to see if there
is anything they could do on they end (or give you the mms:// link
directly).
