saving .wmv files |

I am trying to save .wmv files but I am having problems. In Safari, WMP
opens as the file is downloaded but the file does not appear to be anywhere
on my hard drive and the download window does not show a download. In
Firefox, the download window shows the file and charts its progress, and also
opens the file in WMP, but again, nothing appears to be saved. In IE,
clicking on a file to download it leads to a new page with garbled characters
such as what is shown below this question (but much much longer). How can I
save .wmv files so they can be viewed at a later time.

Try right-clicking on the link to get the contextual menu and then chose
"Save the file as" or something of this sort.
WHat happens is that your browser doesn't know what type o f file it is,
it considers it as a text file and attempts to display its content...
not quite what you wanted I guess ;-)
