Cheap portable Windows Server 2003? |
|
|
I need Windows Server 2003 and (1) want to spend as little as possible and
(2) it needs to be portable. (This is for prototype work with various
clients I have where I may need to go to their site.) I assume I can just
run it on a laptop with enough juice to cover (2). For (1), I noticed by
searching Froogle.com that there is a version of WS 2003 which supports only
a simple web server for about $450.00. Will this be adequate for running
WMRM?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

It all depends, but you should be fine with Small Business
Server (The cheap one). If you're planning to run WMRM 10
you need to have a 2k3 server. Although unless you're
planning on doing advanced rights for portable devices
you're fine with WMRM 9.
WMRM 9 by the way works on 2k3, win 2000, and even on XP.
