Re: Odd Behavior with ASX from IIS and WMP 10 |

To clarify, the MIME type for ASF is "video/x-ms-asf".
Remote ASX files use slightly different rules, as you've noticed. Since
they can't be expanded, the "Show" title is used in both locations.

See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.

Now Playing: "My Vison [Summer In White Edit]" by "Jakatta" in WMP10.

| Quote: | I have an ASX file that looks like this:
ASX version="3.0"
TITLE>Now Streaming...</TITLE
ENTRY
TITLE>Track 08</TITLE
REF href="http://someurl/?mswmext=.mp3" /
AUTHOR>Cool Band Band</AUTHOR
/ENTRY
/ASX
If I put it in a file called "file.asx", the show Title ("Now
Streaming..." is displayed in WMP on the playlist dropdown button, and
the clip title ("Track 08") is displayed as the title in the playlist
and also the overlay in the top-left of the visualization window (this
is in Full Mode).
If I take that same "file.asx" and put it on my web site and click a
hyperlink to it via IE, WMP opens fine it an everything appears normal
except the show title is displayed for both the playlist dropdown
button (correct) AND the clip title in the playlist (incorrect). The
clip title in the visualization overlay still says "Track 08".
The mime type on IIS for.asx is "video/asf".
Any ideas why this might be happening?
Thanks in advance! =)
