Problem,
After installing a program named "For the Record Player v3.2" I am not able
to listen to my voicemail via unified messaging (MS Outlook) and WMA 10. I
receive unknown error without any other clues. Click on web help and get the
error message from microsoft:
You've encountered error message E050A003 while using Windows Media Player.
We are investigating the cause of this error. We will post more information
about this error when it becomes available.
I have narrowed this down to a problem between "For the Record Player 3.2",
WMA any version and Office Basic 2003.
I have a Gateway Eseries 2100. Office 2003 Basic. All patched system, both
windows and office. The error arises after installing a program called "For
the Record" web site www.fortherecord.com. Using for the record player 3.2.
Reinstalled the gateway back to factory defaults from CD. Ran all windows
patches. Installed Office 2003, ran all the patches. WMA 10 works fine with
my unified messaging that are wav files. Unified messaging is receiving my
voicemails via email.
After installing "For the Record Player 3.2" I can play other wav files,
just not my voicemail wav files. I can use for the record to play my
voicemail after saving it to disk. Strange.
After uninstalling For the Record Player 3.2, WMA 10 works with my unified
messaging again.
