video controls |

It seems that there is enough comment about the inability to change video
controls in WMP. No response comes from MS. The responses that are given are
usually clipped and hauty to say the least. Instead of playing games, what
is needed here is a tutorial about the entire situation. I have similar
problems, also, with some file types without an explanation as to how to
correct it. I have read MS manuals and we know that they are lacking in
tutorials which could easily guide the user. The tutorial should also
describe how the controls work in the sense of their basic requirements. To
the reader responders - don't , unless you can provide a reasonable helpful
response. Frankly, it is time to s--- or get off the pot.

First, this is NOT a Microsoft site, it is a Usenet group of users ...
Second, didn't this site help any ( or didn't you do any searching before complaining?)

I don't see any other post from you. What are you talking about?
I'm assuming you're referring to the Video Settings Controls... (brightness,
hue, etc)? Those are only supported for files played back via the Windows
Media Format SDK, and thus don't affect DVDs/MPEG2.
But I'm really not sure what you're inquiring about since you didn't provide
much context... ?
Respectfully,
-Zach

Let me now rephrase. I used video controls as a filter and came up with many
questions that related to the problem I was having which involves the
inability to operate video controls in certain cases. I am quite aware that
this is a user group. The responses I was referring to were user responses.
I went through every question asked and not one of the responses given really
gave the answers that the user(s) would find helpful. As one of the
questioners stated, 'It is obvious that I am not going to find the answer
here and will have to search elsewhere'. I don't want to start arguments and
this is the first time I have attempted to communicate with a user's group.
Too often these sites are used by some to show how smart they are - e.g.,
when someone responds saying I have never had this problem. What they really
mean is I know the answer and you don't. If this user group is to be helpful.
It should be just that.
By the way, I am retired and have been in the computer industry with
manufacturers dating back to UNIVAC for over 35 years from its infancy - down
to the nitty gritty, but I don't profess to know everything, As someone once
said,"Can't we all just get along" - and I would like to add "and be
helpful". |
