How do I protect my work with DRM technology? |

Dear all!
I have a few questions that I really need precise answers to.
I’m about to launch a small web from which I intend to offer special media files for download/on-line purchase. I believe that the WMA format with DRM is ideally suited for my needs, since we also wish to have free demos for download but with some restrictions on usage. But the Microsoft site is just too difficult to navigate – I don’t find the answers…
So – about the needs:
We record and create all content and own the rights to all works we offer. But we need to use some sort of copy-protection so as not to be pirated freely.
3 questions:
How do I protect my work using the DRM technology? What software/hardware do I need to do this?
Can I somehow protect an audio file (eg, set a fixed number of copies allowed for customer to create, set a fixed limit on number of times it can be played, set an expiration date etc), then burn it to CD (DVD?!) as a datafile (WMA) and still have the content protected? (Customers are to use the files in the WMPlayer)
What does the necessary software cost? Is it licensed? Freeware?
GRATEFUL for suggestions & pointers!
