WMRMOBJSLib.IWMRMChallenge2 failure |

hello all,
i have a WMRM9 license test server that runs on win2k server.
it issues silent/non-silent license.
recently, i ran our test app that supports pre-delivered
license. and i'm getting the following exception:
Source=Interop.WMRMOBJSLib
Error=QueryInterface for interface WMRMOBJSLib.IWMRMChallenge2 failed
then i point to another test server that runs the same exact
code for the license server. and it works fine. i know that
the challenge string is valid (because the other license server
processed it correctly).
i am running out of ideas on what's going on. i re-installed the
WMRM SDK, re-installed the license from microsoft, checked the IIS
permission on the license server. searched google left and right.
has anyone seen this before? any clues/ideas?

What development environment are you using? Does your build process
generate an Interop dll or another wrapper dll that you forgot to move
to the failing server? For my build, I simply add a reference in my
ASP.NET project, then the build generates an Interop.WMRMOBJSLib.dll
that I needed to move along with my project dll. Easy to forget that
one if that is how you have yours set up. |

yes. got all those wrapper DLLs built. and as i mentioned,
they work fine on different machines. i highly suspect this
to be a security issue, but i can't prove it because the
error message is so vague (in this case, it simply says
that query interface failed).
in any case, newly built windows 2000 and 2003 servers have
no problem running this service (hence, my suspicion).
