increasing volume on protected file |
|

I tried posting this question on the windows media player
newsgroup but got no response. Maybe this is the place.
I would like to know if there is a way to increase the
volume on a .wmv file that I download. I must enter a
password to get the file and watch it, and because of this
it seems I'm unable to open the file in programs to
convert it somehow so as to increase the volume.
Most of the time the video volumes are fine on these
files, but sometimes on particular files it's too low. I
can increase the volume by plugging my laptop into a
stereo receiver, but I'd like to be able to listen to the
videos on my laptop.
I'm guessing they did not have the volume set right when
they originally recorded the video, but it seems to me
that there should be some way to increase the volume range
on my end. I've tried every volume control I know of on
my laptop but cannot increase it enough.
Thanks,
Tony
