Hi! i'm YoungSeol Kim from South Korea.

These day, i am programming with WMRM SDK.
I already have a License Issuing Server.
and then i try to transfer encrypted content to the
portable device like PDA.

my media player have a sub menu like 'Copy to CD or Device'
This menu have a 'Items on Device'.

I can transfer encrypted content to PDA using this menu.

If i transfer to encrypted content to PDA in OS Area,
pda have two file like 'Simple.wma' and 'DRMv1PM'.

This is no problem.

But if i transfer to encrypted content to PDA in Flash
Memory Area. at that time. WMP transfer clear content to
PDA. this file is not encrypted contents.

It's big problem.

I don't understand why WMP transfer clear content to PDA.

anyone know this reason?

I had a similar test for the PDA.
I tried two cases.

firstly, I used WMA protected file for test. I protect my
wma file, and get the license from my own license server
with the pmrights. and transfered to my pda which is
installed pocket pc 2003 media player 9. when I transfer
my contents to pda, I used media player's copy to
cd/portable device item of my PC. the item menu shows two
submenu, one is the os area of pda, the other is the flash
memory storage area of pda. when I transferred to the os
area of pda, it work well (the contents is encrypted, and
I can play the contents with transfered license). but when
I transferred to the flash memory storage, the content is
not protected(decrypted clear contents) and also I can
play on PC after transfering to my PC.

secondly, I tried to test transfering contents and licen
with my WMV file. in that situation, I can't play the
encrypted contents in os area, after transfering. and the
contents transferred to the flash memory area of pda is a
decrypted clear contents.

I have some questions. which license issuing condition is
needed to transfer to the pda? is there any condition for
original wma, wmv file to protect? is there any condition
for pocket pc os or storage settings?

can you guess any other reasons for this problems?
