Hi all,

I'm running WMP 7.1 with IE 5.0 on OS9. It works, if I paste the URL
directly into WMP. It steadfastly refuses to open automatically when I
click on an .asx link. I've tried changing the Helper File setting to
Post-process with app, view with plug-in, and view with app. Nothing
works. I've compared the Helper settings with my RealPlayer settings.
(RP works great). They're the same.

Plug-in aliases are present in the IE plug-in folder. I downloaded and
installed the latest WMP for OS9, today. I threw out all the old WMP
files before I installed.

I understand that this is a problem in IE 4, but I'm not running IE 4.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

You have to make sure the proper MIME types are setup in IE. Go to the
preferences in IE and make sure .asx files are setup to be opened by the
WMP plug-in,
I hope it helps,
