Streaming Content vs Local Content problem |
|
|
I seem to have encountered a problem where playing a WMV file, served from a
webserver, in a browser causes the video and audio to stop playing at some
point during the duration of the video and never recover and start playing
again. It seems to happen at the same point each time and the higher the
compression settings, the shorter the video will play. However if I play
the same file locally, the file will play all the way through. Can anybody
give me any idea as to what settings I may need to set to successfully play a
WMV in a browser? The video that I'm trying to serve really shouldn't be
very demanding and plays fine on Windows based browsers and machines.
Thanks,
Eddie

I fear that this might be because the speed of the streaming can't keep
up with what you need to play the movie. THe fact that it doesn't play
again afterwards might be an issue in WMPO itself but I had similar
problems with a server and when I tried connecting from a different
(faster) internet access, I had no problem playing the file :-(
