Hello,
Q: Could a developer apply for a license to get an audio DSP plug-in to work
during DVD playback (and optionally during DRM-encoded content playback) in
Windows Media Player 9/10?
I found other DVD players (e.g. DirectDVD) that support DMO effects, so I
don't see any reason for not supporting audio effects during DVD playback.
As to DRM, I undestand that the plug-in must be signed in some way to ensure
that it's not exposing the unencrypted audio stream.
Thanks in advance,
Ianier

Sorry, Windows Media Player doesn't support using DSP plug-ins with DRM or
DVD. No way to sign it or to get a special license. The Player just won't
load the plug-in into the playback graph.
