Third party codec's inconvenient question again |
|
|
Hello
A month ago, then 2 weeks ago I was asking about why Windows Media Player 9
(and as I checked today, 10) is unwilling to play ASF files whose samples
are coded by third party codec's, while the same files are played with
no slightest problem by old stupid Graphedit (not so stupid as we can see
:-P ).
How can it be explained? As a hint I may say that a stream was coded
among others by a codec which fourcc was "XVID".
Will the 11th version be as good as old Graphedit?
With best regards, Radek Strugalski

It would seem that Windows Media Player is more restrictive of the graphs
it will construct than the older versions.
One way round this is to use the 6.4 player which is still available in the
WMP10 release. You can use the (old) class ID to launch or embed it.
