Hello.
I need to develop a service that connect to a Windows Media
Services 9, in all protocols (MMS (TCP AND UDP), RTSP(TCP AND UDP) ,
AND HTTP) , to monitor the performance of the server.
Here start the problems.
With the Windows Media Player 10 SDK, itīs impossible to connect
through MMS, because the server switches to rtsp when the player is 9
or 10. Moreover, the itīs impossible to enforce the player to no
switch to the CACHE protocol when cache is enabled at the server.
With the Windows Media Format SDK , the switch to CACHE doesnīt
occurs, but, still itīs impossible to connect through MMS.
Anybody knows how can i pass this limitations with the sdks ?

Thanks in advance.

André

In the WMF SDK, if you specify the exact protocol to use (mmst: or mmsu:),
does it still rollover to rtsp:? I'm not sure, but you might try it.

Yes, Geoff, even I specify the exact protocol, the protocol is
rolloved.
I think I need to use the format 7 sdk to connect through mms, but
i can't even find where to download the format 7 sdk.
Do you have any tips ?

Thanks

Andre
