Here's the scenario:

1. Using WMSDK10 (although the same symptoms appeared using SDK9).
2. Ripping large CD library.
3. Have CD information in separate database.
4. Have written C# app to transfer data from custom database to WM database
before and after ripping.

Workflow:
1. Load CD in drive.
2. Use custom app to retrieve CD info from custom database, assign
attributes to WMP database.
3. Rip CD using WMP (not SDK - is using the SDK to rip even an option?).
4. Use custom app to retrieve track info from custom database, set media
attributes in WMP database.

WMP rips the CDs and the correct CD information shows. I use my custom app
to review all the tracks of the given CD and update individual tracks with
correct information (like genre and artist name). Use WMP10 to load the
tracks from the hard drive and all the tracks appear correctly...

UNTIL I actually play a track. At that point, incorrect (e.g., the previous
value of) genre - and sometimes even CD title - data is shown in WMP. It
appears that unless I use WMP itself to make these genre changes, they
aren't really saved in the database.

Is there something else I should be doing? Is WMP updating the individual
files with this information? Should I be trying to update the individual
files with my track information (from my custom database)?

This is really annoying and I don't want to have to use WMP to update track
information for all 950+ CDs I plan to rip...

Thanks!
