Starting up WindowsMediaServices |
|
|
I would like to bring up Windows Media Services on Windows2003
Standard Edition, but this is much more difficult that it seems it
should be. I understand Windows Media Services is a service, but it
doesn't show up under ControlPanel\AdministrativeTools\Services. Doing
a search under Help for "WindowsMediaServices" or "Windows Media
Services" returns 0 references. Everything on the Microsoft
windowsmedia web pages is marketing material touting everything
Windows Media Serices can do but saying nothing about how to set it up
or run it. How do you start this service? Where is the user's manual?
Thanks,
Steve

Please go to Control Panel->Add/remove programs->Add
Remove Windows Components->Windows Media Services and
install it from there. WMS9 is a component of Win2K3
server.
Once installed, you will get the Windows Media
Administrator as part of Administrative Tools and you can
open it up and find the help/documentation in there.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll try that Monday morning. Is that information published somewhere?
